Metal detectors suitable for a broad range of food and pharmaceutical applications will be on show at Lock Inspection Systems, Booth S-1366. The innovative inspection systems manufacturer will display detectors for quality control and inspection at all points of the production line.
Visitors to Lock's booth can view a range of MET30+Universal digital metal detectors and checkweighers, which can be utilized across a number of industries. The MET30+ Universal range continues to set the standard for accurate, reliable detection of metallic contamination, which can occur throughout the manufacturing process from ingredient screening, through to finished products. The detectors on show include a pipeline system for pastes and sauces, a waferthin, which can be used on snack VFFS machines, a pharmaceutical unit for tablets and capsules, and a checkweigher for packaged products.
Utilizing Lock's single high frequency, crystal-controlled oscillator, the MET30+ Universal hf offers up to 40% higher sensitivity than standard detectors. Lock's exclusive digital filtering software allows the unit to inspect foods a wide variety of food products at a frequency of 875Khz – four times higher than standard food industry detectors. The sophisticated software of the MET30+ Universal hf also eliminates the need to reconfigure the settings for each product, therefore reducing downtime while increasing efficiency and operating speeds.
Lock will also demonstrate the new IP69K rated heavy duty washdown touchscreen interface mounted on MET30+ Universal detectors. The rugged design of the membrane keypad lends it to use in harsh production environments, such as the meat industry. The user-friendly touchscreen panel incorporates Lock's ADC software so the data can be viewed on the screen itself rather than from a networked PC or laptop. This delivers accurate detection of the tiniest particles of metal – whatever the product profile.
Lock's Data Management software system which monitors and reports the status of individual lines, machines and products, is now available for wireless communication. Datachek allows operators to collect and store information to provide a valuable central record of all validation and production data, and with Lock's new wireless capability, difficult cable installations are a thing of the past.
Experts from Lock will be available at Booth S-1366 to offer advice on specific inspection problems.
